It is so enjoyable to get a peek into the past by looking at old photos.

CHILDHOOD DOLL PHOTOS - PAGE FOUR

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Best friends, Julie (L) and Randie (R), couldn't be happier to show off their new companion dolls, after wishing for "3 year olds" for Christmas, 1959.  These dolls are wearing the exact same outfits as my 36" Ginny on my 60s dolls page.  Could they be, or do you think they are Patti Play Pals, or? (All four girls are just darling!)

Five year old, Alana, beams as she opens her birthday gift in 1960.  A pretty little Lori Ann.  Notice the classic "signature" polka-dot box of the Nancy Ann Storybook Doll Co.  These dolls were less common than the Muffie doll and are hard to find today.

Christmas morning was extra special for Kitty as her brand new Tippee Toes, riding her trike beside her,  watched Kitty show off her artistic talents with the very popular Spirograph in 1968. (Notice just barely in the picture, behind Kitty, is the back side of Tippee's box.)

Kris lovingly shares a very special moment as mommy to her Mattel's Sweet Sounds Tender Love, around 1975.

A 1960 Christmas family photo wouldn't be complete without Judy's new friend.  Unfortunately the photo only caught the doll from the waist up, but it is unmistakably a Deluxe Reading Little Miss Fashion Doll, so typical of this time period.

Who wouldn't have a beaming smile with a best friend like Patti Play Pal at your side!  There is no information on this photo but it is surely circa early-60s when the life-sized companion dolls were all the rage.  This beautiful doll is unmistakably a 36" Ideal Patti Play Pal.  Wonder if these two are still best pals, today?

A fabulous turn-of-the-century vintage photo of a mother and daughter sitting on the front stoop of their home.  The little girl holds a beautiful china head doll with the common "low brow" hairstyle.

Perhaps you have a treasured photo of yourself, or a loved one, with a childhood doll,  that you would like to include on this page.  It could even be a photo of an unidentified child that you stumbled across in an antique mall, like some that I've included.  What is important is that there be a doll in the shot and it be somewhat vintage.   If you have a CLEAR photo that you would like to add to the page, email me to get instructions on sending it.
