Vogue Ginny

Molded Lash Walkers

Ginny is  wearing Fun Time #50 Ice Skate outfit from 1956

When I found Ginny years ago in this outfit, it was complete except for the plaid ruffled skating skirt.  I looked high and low for it for years.  I was about to give up ever finding it,  when I happened to come upon the skirt, all by itself, in a dealer's pile of miscellaneous clothing at a local doll show.  I guess the motto, "Never give up!" is fitting here.

Ginny couldn't be happier!

I bought this Ginny wearing this dress under the navy blue coat.  The material seems to match perfectly but the coat is tagged with the '57 blue/white Vogue Dolls, Inc. tag while this one has the black/white Medford tag.

A darling sailor type dress has the Medford tag, but I can't find this example in the books.  If anyone knows more about it, please let me know.

I know that Vogue used up tags but it seems unlikely to me that they would use two different tags on the same ensemble.  This coat is documented in the 1957 catalogs (different hat).

Ginny is  wearing Merry Moppets #37 from 1955

A cute little, typically styled,  school dress.  The rickrack trim is a dark brown. Shoes would look better if they were also the darker brown but these lighter ones  were all I had at the time.

Blondes can always wear red well and this cutie is no exception.  A pretty red organdy dress is being modeled by this blonde MLW with the classic Ginny flip.  Outfit cataloged with a red hair bow.  Lacking that, I added this cute scallop trimmed straw hat.

I purchased this molded lash Ginny wearing a simple budget dress that was cute but did not do her justice.  When I found this dress I knew it would look fabulous on her because of her fantastic red hair! Do you agree?

1956 #6056 Play Time Cowgirl
~*~*~*~
Throughout the years several cowgirl outfits were designed for Ginny.  This is the 1956 #6056 being modeled by a 57 bent-knee walker. The gold belt is missing. This photo is not very good, I will eventually replace it and put the outfit on an appropriate doll.

A recent purchase from a dealer at a doll show.  Her hair was all in disarray but I could tell she should have had braided hair.  The dealer said she just didn't want to deal with it. I DID! She has pretty good coloring and she was wearing an original tagged outfit.  I added the Ginny shoes.

I can't find this cute little dress in any of my reference books.  The pattern has darling little ponies and flowers with matching panties.  It may have been sold as a "budget" dress because it has the characteristics; simple lines, little if any trim.

Grey felt jumper dress over a pink diamond patterned body suit.  Hat has a velvet brim.  One of my favorite play outfits.

1956 Tiny Miss

Outfit #6039

This pretty MLW is wearing an outfit that is often referred to as the "birds & bees" outfit.  This dainty dress print has little birds and tiny little clusters of bees on a pale pink background.  The dress is covered with an organdy apron. I've seen both wide brimmed pink straw hats as well as this natural straw bonnet style hat.

Ginny always looks good in plaid.  This is a cute navy/green dress with a large brimmed felt hat.

Outfit #6035

Ginny is a molded lash walker and is all ready for school in her darling "block print" dress.   This is another one of my favorite little dresses.
