These are just a few of the many Storybook Dolls that were produced.  I call these "dresser dolls" because nobody ever seemed to get to play with them.  They were usually part of a series and were designed to represent characters from fairy tales or nursery rhymes.  The two in the front and the back one are made of bisque and the one in the middle back is a later doll made of hard plastic with sleep eyes.  Storybook dolls were made for several years starting in the 40s.  For the most part they came in polka-dot boxes.
